Ground floor extension – Old Moulsham, Chelmsford

We completed internal alterations and added a single height extension with vaulted roof (approximately 50 square meters) to this property to form a light and spacious lounge/kitchen/diner incorporating bi-folding doors which open to the full width of the property.

Loft conversion and kitchen extension in Old Moulsham

Loft conversion – We completed a loft conversion to create an extra bedroom and ensuite.  We installed a large velux window to allow maximum natural light.  This involved creating a bespoke staircase to the new room.  We also installed a sun tunnel to provide maximum natural daylight to the existing staircase.

Kitchen extension – We stripped out and refurbished an old outbuilding to create a modern style vaulted roof extension to the existing kitchen.

Extension – Old Moulsham, Chelmsford

We added a triple height extension to the left side of the property to create a new garage, master bedroom with en-suite and a new room to the attic.   The customer gave us a strong remit to blend the extension in with the existing property.  The interior was completely refurbished and modernised.  We created a new master bedroom with en-suite containing shower, wc, bath and sink.  Landscaped the back garden.

Extension – Double height extension to 3 bedroom property in Chelmsford

We added a double height extension to the right side of the property to create an additional bedroom and living area.   The interior was completely refurbished and modernised.  We created a 4th bedroom with en-suite containing shower, wc, bath and two sinks, plastering throughout existing property and extension.  We completed internal decoration and tiled the floor thoughout the existing property and new extension with porcelain tiles with underfloor heating.  We also created the base for the sunken spa and a decked area surround.  Finally, landscaping the rear garden.

Restoration – 150 year old listed cottage in North End

150 year old listed cottage
The cottage is situated in the grounds of a larger property and had fallen into a state of disrepair over many years.  It is understood that the building was constructed as a village meeting place around 150 years ago.  The current owners, therefore,  decided to have the cottage restored with a strong remit to retain as much of the original building’s character as possible.

The cottage was completely stripped back to the bare structure and many of the original oak beams were replaced.  The remaining beams were treated and restored.  The floor was completely removed and replaced with a solid oak floor, the windows and doors are all solid oak and were hand made by our joiner in his local workshop.

A new bathroom was installed with a travertine floor and wall tiling to make it self-contained and habitable.  Internal and external walls and beams were decorated after plastering and rendering.

Working alongside the local Building Control and Listed Buildings departments the cottage was restored to be sympathetic with the surrounding properties within the North End village.
